I got your Thanksgiving Appetizer right here! Years ago at a girl’s day out pool party, my friend brought the most amazing appetizer in the form of a Gouda/brown sugar/pecan puff pastry situation and it was a huge hit. Ever since, it’s been a staple at most Cooksey home gatherings. I thought creating this bite-sized version would be the perfect app for your Thanksgiving festivities because who doesn’t love mini things and this will be a instant favorite! There’s not much to love about brown sugar, puff pastry, and cheese!!

Ingredients:

1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed according to directions
Dutch Gouda cheese (about 8 oz. chopped into 1 in. cubes)
1/2 cup pecan pieces
1/4 brown sugar (light or dark)
1 honeycrisp apple

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Slice puff pastry into 2×2 squares and place in mini muffin tin.

In a small mixing bowl, combine pecans and brown sugar and place 1 heaping teaspoon on top of each pastry square. Place Gouda cube on top of sugar/pecan mixture. Top each cheese cube with a sprinkle of sugar/pecan mixture.

Bake at 400 degrees for 12-16 minutes or until pastry begins to lightly brown on edges. Remove from oven and top with a small triangle shaped slice of honeycrisp apple and serve warm!
